Nutritional Response Testing

Nutritional Response Testing is a non-invasive method that assesses how your body responds to different nutrients. Chiropractors use this technique to discover any underlying conditions in your body or find the cause of any discomfort you are experiencing. At the office of Dr. Vanessa Troise, D.C. in Farmingdale, NY, we can help you with this. We offer a holistic approach to staying healthy.

What Is It?

Nutritional Response Testing, or NRT, is a method used to analyze your body and determine if you have any health conditions, such as organ dysfunction or nutritional deficiencies. The testing process is natural, safe, and non-invasive. It is backed by medical studies and includes three main components: analysis, personalized health improvement, and diet assessment.

Through NRT, we can conduct an analysis of how your body is functioning and determine what nutrients you may need to bring balance your diet. The testing also quickly locates food intolerances, immune stressors, and toxins.

Analysis

NRT focuses on neurological responses and is also called applied kinesiology. The neurological reflexes in your body come from your nervous system. Each neurological reflex is derived from an acupuncture point and relates to a specific function of your body.

Our chiropractor will begin testing by having you lie down and extend one arm up toward the ceiling. She will then press down on your arm and ask you to resist. The rest of the test follows this pattern with different reflex points. Your different reflexes and responses can indicate stress or dysfunction of the organ or part of the body that is being tested.

Personalized Health Improvement

Our bodies are designed for health and healing. NRT reveals what areas are weak and unable to heal or function properly. This helps our chiropractor decipher what type of nutrition your body needs to become stronger.

Diet Assessment

The final step in NRT is creating a diet plan. Using the results of your analysis, our chiropractor can determine how you can give certain parts of your body more energy. Every patient’s diagnosis is different, and may require incorporating more carbohydrates, vegetarian foods, raw foods or supplements to their diets. By altering your diet, you can restore your body’s health and even avoid any nutritional deficiencies.
